New RainPac design details revealed by Flexitank
Flexitank is pleased to announce some considerable changes to our RainPac under house bladder tank systems. These changes are effective immediately and will be available on all new tanks ordered from 1st June 2015:
- The standard RainPac range has been increased to 18 standard sizes. Joining the standard widths of 1, 1.3, 1.6 & 2 metres are 2.3 and 2.6 metre wide tanks, in the standard lengths of 4, 6 & 9 metres. Full customisation at no extra cost is still a feature of our RainPac offering;
- The old two outlet system has been discontinued, and is replaced with a single outlet. The outlet has also been moved from the base of the tank, to the end of the tank, which means easier access to the fittings of the tank;
- With the new outlet system, the kit we supply now includes a one meter length of flexible hose with male BSP threads for easy attachment to every RainPac as well as all pumps the tank is connected to;
- Our unique bottom inlet system remains, given its success in thousands of installations since 2006, with a slight change of fittings to make the entire plumbing process simpler and safer. See the drawings below for further information;
- The vent system has been redesigned, as is now a 50mm system supplied with a Vent Cowl, ensuring creepy crawlys and anything that could block your RainPac up can never enter the system;
- Thanks to the Frogmouth and Lazy Lizard systems being discontinued last year, we have revised the filtration and overflow system to now include Rain Harvesting products in the RainPac kit. The filter is now a Leaf Eater Ultra, and the overflow protection system is completed by a Mozzie Stoppa Flap Valve. Both products, along with all fittings, are supplied standard with every tank; and,
- The colour of all RainPac tanks is being updated to grey. The fabric still meets the AS4020 standard for potable water in contact with plastic, and every tank is still supplied with its own ground sheet.

We are very proud of our system; it is something that when released, was met with a great amount of criticism by industry "experts" and "competitors", and yet has stood the test of time, with the return or failure rate of our system still to this day remaining at ZERO! And best of all, it is OUR design; it is not copied from someone else. It is not a modification on another design from overseas. It is a uniquely Australian design, completely owned and registered to Flexitank (Australia) and we are VERY proud to continue to be innovators in our field, not copiers or design rip off merchants. If only the entire industry was the same!!
The new design is now being dispatched with every RainPac system. Our lead times at the moment are very good - 10 to 15 working days from order to dispatch. However, with the imminent Ill Nino weather event coming, we expect these lead times to increase, and implore everyone considering investing into a RainPac system to consider doing so NOW, when it is raining, BEFORE the drought like events start to take hold.
RainPac - always out of sight, never out of mind!
Until next time,
Gavin @ Flexitank
