RainPac rainwater tanks getting the job done
We received an SOS phone call from a new home owner in Mt Eliza, Victoria, last week, who called us in frustration of having some pump issues since purchasing the house.
Living a 15 minute drive away, I made plans to meet onsite and take a look at the system to see what could be done.
I was greeted at the house with a smile and an offer of a coffee, which I gladly accepted, given it was all of about 2 degrees and raining!! Once I had some background information that the pump was working, ran dry, and then simply lost flow, it became obvious the pump may have failed, which considering the new home owner though the tanks were installed in around 2010, is to be expected.
We went to the access hatch to look at the pumps, and a wry smile came across my face. Right there, under this wonderful home, completely out of sight, are two RainPac bladder tanks, each of which holds 6,000 litres of rainwater, laying there, full to the brim, and ready to be pumped dry!
I was able to access the label supplied on every tank (each tank is individually serialised for tracability) and quickly discovered these tanks were made in February 2008, meaning they are now almost 7 1/2 years old. And there they are, doing exactly what they are designed to do, without a leak, without any fabric wearing, and whilst they were ridiculously dirty (they are under the house afterall), they are not taking up ONE INCH of valuable back or front yard space, providing vast amounts of storage whilst remaining completely out of sight.
We were able to confirm the pump had failed, and needs to be replaced. The new home owner is now considering plumbing a new pump into the house mains, meaning his toilets and laundry, as well as the other taps around the property, can all be fed from the two RainPac's that are safely hidden away under his house.
The absolute highlight of the trip down to Mt Eliza was saved for the very end though, when in conversation we talked about how good Australian Made products really are, esepcially when they are the same price as "cheap" imports, and then I find out the new owners DID NOT EVEN KNOW these tanks were installed when they bought the house!!! Whilst that means the real estate agent may not have done his job that well (tanks are a great selling feature), it clearly highlights EXACTLY one of the key points we promote with our system - completely out of sight rainwater storage that means NO wasted land space or unsightly plastic or metal tanks to look at.
Whilst we are supremely confident in our designs, engineering, testing and manufacturing, these types of field results are the optimal result. Whilst the naysayers have had much to say about bladder tanks in general, and our bladder tank 'competitors' telling us (and all of our customers) for the very outset that fittings placed under a bladder "will never work" (even though some of these competitors do not even make their own tanks!), we are seeing the true results of our hard work and dedication to quality in both our manufacturing and design.
We are also now seeing other bladder tank manufacturers copying this design. Whilst some would get annoyed by this (and rightfully so), we are flattered. We knew from day one that they system we had designed would work. It was (and still is) simple, elegant, functional and sound in its premise, and we are happy to report that with results like this one happening all over the globe with thousands of happy RainPac customers, proven in the field after almost 10 years of manufacturing RainPac bladder tanks.
RainPac has recently gone through a revamp, which you can read about here. The system is now available in 18 standard sizes, across 6 standard widths and 3 standard lenghts. Flexitank will fully customise your RainPac bladder tank solution for you at no extra charge, and can manifold as many tanks together as you can fit! With houses across Australia no storing 1,000 to 96,500 litres of rainwater in RainPac bladder tanks, and the potential onset of another ENSO Ill Nino event, the time to invest in protecting your homes gardens and landscape, as well as stop paying absurd water bills (which continue to rise and will never stop) has never been better! RainPac - always out of sight, never out of mind!
Until next time,
